
Gulim Askar is a visual artist and illustrator born in Kazakhstan and currently based in Linz, Austria. Drawing is the central medium of her artistic practice, through which she explores perception, the poetry of everyday life, and the fragile nature of human experience.
Her work has been exhibited and published in Austria and internationally, and she has collaborated with cultural institutions, festivals, publishers, and creative partners such as the Diagonale Film Festivaland FC Gloria, and other independent projects. She has received recognition through awards and selections including the Creative Club Austria (CCA) Illustration Shortlist and the Soroptimist International Austria Recognition Award. Alongside her artistic practice, she develops and leads drawing workshops and is open to new collaborations, commissions, and creative exchanges.
